The mission of PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH is to protect the environment by treating and purifying wastewater. The company places a major focus on industrial wastewater treatment. Since many companies produce wastewater with different levels of contamination, individual solutions are an important component in wastewater treatment. The recovery of natural resources also plays a major role.
PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH has realised numerous projects in recent years and achieved a great deal. One of these was the expansion of the main production facility. The focus was on expanding the office complex into a modern and future-oriented workplace for all employees. The company also relocated its production of small sewage treatment plants to nearby Bindlach in order to focus entirely on the production of industrial sewage treatment plants in Bayreuth.
PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH is constantly working to strengthen its international relationships with partner companies. The business partners visit Bayreuth regularly to strengthen the personal relationships with them and to help develop the international business. This and the fact that PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH subjects its ClearFox® wastewater treatment plants to regular, independent tests creates a high level of trust among customers.
PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH is particularly proud of its cooperation with regional universities. Dr. Sabine Düreth-Joneck, head of the research and development department, developed projects together with various university chairs, which can be a further step in the field of wastewater treatment. For example, she researched carrier materials for microorganisms that accelerated the growth time of the bacteria. In addition, there was a focus on biocomposite modules that reliably reduce the nitrogen content of agricultural wastewater.
PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH presents itself internationally
PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH is represented at international trade fairs and participates in digital events. Selected employees visited trade fairs in Munich, Amsterdam or Moscow. Together with international business partners, PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH was represented in France, among other places. In order to get to know the market in South America better, the company took part in a digital event, as the demand for reliable wastewater treatment systems is particularly high in the Brazilian market due to the continuing economic growth.
In recent years, PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH has been able to realise several major international projects that significantly reduced pollution of the environment. The ClearFox® containerized wastewater treatment plants are now cleaning produced water from oil and gas production, as well as in the industrial wastewater from the food and beverage industry. In addition, the ClearFox® team implemented a wastewater treatment project major at a coal power plant.
To celebrate the successes and new partnerships in the last few years, PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH organised an event in October 2021. The focus was on thanking the numerous business partners and other contacts that have helped develop PPU into a market leader in the environmental sector. CEO Wolfgang Pöhnl opened the newly built main production hall and offices, and invited all guests to celebrate together after a long break from contact due to covid 19. This celebration was followed by an open day where friends, family and neighbours were invited.
In the future, PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH would like to further build upon its success in the field of wastewater treatment. The focus is on international partnerships as well as good cooperation’s worldwide. Wastewater treatment will always play a major role in the development of countries economies. Clean water and the recovery of natural raw materials will become increasingly important in the future in order to enable all people to live sustainably. PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH also offers all employees a modern workplace, with a continued development in high tech manufacturing and further training.
