Discussion
Situation
A municipality in central Germany was restoring its municipal wastewater treatment plant. For this purpose, they wanted an interim sewage treatment plant. The leasing system from PPU is best suited for this. A total of 15 cubic metres of wastewater are produced per hour every day. The wastewater comes from two streams: a wastewater inflow from the households and an external water inflow. The wastewater has a COD of 150 mg/l, a BOD5 of 40 mg/l, a phosphorus content of 8 mg/l and a nitrogen content of 55 mg/l and should be suitable for direct discharge into a receiving water body after treatment.
Problem
The challenge of this project was the short-term realisation. The customer wanted a quick solution with rapid commissioning. At the same time, wastewater treatment was not to be interrupted, which is why a smooth transition between the municipal wastewater treatment plant and the leasing system was required.
Solution
PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH offered the customer a containerised wastewater treatment plant with a fixed bed biological reactor. At the beginning, the wastewater flows through a screening screw. This filters all coarse solids out of the wastewater. The fixed bed biological reactor cleans the wastewater biologically and guarantees direct discharge with its reliable cleaning performance. After biological treatment, a lamella clarifier separates the sludge from the clear water. The system works particularly reliably.
The complete containerised wastewater treatment plant was manufactured by PPU in the main factory in Bayreuth. After the strict quality controls, the first microorganisms had a chance to grow on the fixed bed material. As a result, the company delivered the plant with a biology that had already partially started. The treatment plant therefore reached full purification capacity only a few days after installation.
The customer received a particularly cost-efficient leasing system, in which maintenance work is kept to a minimum thanks to the robust construction. The ClearFox® team set a deadline of one day for the installation – which they were able to meet without any problems. The ClearFox® containerised wastewater treatment plant and its bureaucratic handling met the customer’s wishes in the best possible way, which is why PPU was the ideal contact for this project.
