ClearFox® Nature EN12566-3 was tested by Prüfinstitut für Abwassertechnik GmbH (PIA). They examined the ClearFox® Nature domestic wastewater treatment plant. One of its main areas of focus was the treatment of the sludge and the intervals at which it was operated. The ClearFox® Nature plant showed excellent results.

What is the ClearFox® Nature?
PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH has developed the ClearFox® Nature plant as a biological, electric-free and self-operating wastewater treatment plant for 50 people. It is already in use in many single- and multi-family houses for effective wastewater treatment. To prove the sustainability and reliability of the plant, PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH approached PIA to conduct a test of the plant.
How was the test carried out?
To test ClearFox® Nature, over a period of 38 weeks, PPU’s own laboratory collected data that – in accordance with the approval of the General Building Inspectorate – must not exceed the specified limit values. The important factors were chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biological oxygen demand (BOD5) as well as the water tightness, stability and durability of the system. The ClearFox® Nature system passed the test with success, with a COD (85,9%) or BOD (94,8%). Other parameters were also cleaned by the system.
The decisive factor for domestic wastewater treatment plants is sludge production and how often the operator has to dispose of it. The less often, the better for everyone involved. When developing the system, PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH has optimised it so that it decomposes 100 per cent of the sludge itself, so that the user does not have to dispose of it. Only maintenance is performed twice a year by the service team. This ensures the longevity of ClearFox® Nature.
